Invasion of the Bunny Lovers, pt 1 is episode 8a of Season 6 of WordGirl.
Summary
Mr. Big and Dr. Two Brains team up to create a plan to control the minds of everyone in the city. Their plan seems to be working and turning everyone into zombies! Scoops is on the scene to get the story, but will he get the surprise of his life when he sees Becky turn into WordGirl to save the city from Dr. Two Brains and Mr. Big's evil plan?
Plot
Mr. Big drops off Leslie, who cheerfully waves as she leaves the car and heads inside to attend an unappreciated sidekicks convention. Mr. Big is grumpy because Leslie left him for such an event, the sqeaker on his squishy bunny broke, and his last mind control device was unsuccessful. Dr. Two-Brains overhears Mr. Big discussing this with The Narrator. He tells Mr. Big he can relate to feeling fed up with his supervillain life. Both deciding they need some new plan, the two realize they could work together. At first, they have no further ideas. Then, after Mr. Big tosses away his broken bunny toy, Dr. Two-Brains is literally hit with an idea: collaborate on a bunny-centered theme!
The new friends launch a trend, advertising how delightful bunnies are and how only a monster wouldn't love one. They give away free I love bunnies buttons to all bunny lovers, much to WordGirl's suspicion.
Dr. Two-Brains appraches one of the receivers. "Delightful button.," he says to him. "Can I see it?" With a press from Dr. Two-Brains, the plastic button squeaks and glows green, rendering the man mind controlled. The man automatically does the exact same to a nearby woman.
The villains discuss how their plan will work. Each buttons' mind control urges the wearer to press other people's buttons. With this strategy, WordGirl can't easily defeat them. Instead of knocking out a single device, she would have to turn off every single button around the city.
By that night, the city is swarming with lifeless, robotic people under the influence of Mr. Big and Dr. Two-Brains' mind control buttons. Becky is alarmed upon noticing what has happened to the citizens. She goes home to get Bob, only to discover he, her parents, and TJ have all been victims of the mind control already, too. Her family comes toward the doorway in a trance, offering her bunny buttons insistently.
Becky shuts them out and leaves home. The city streets aren't any safer, with zombie-like people approaching her from all directions, their arms outstretched with bunny buttons. Meanwhile, Scoops is the only other person who escaped the mind control. When Becky is cornered by the mob, she resorts to punching through a brick wall to escape, encountering Scoops and more mind controlled people on the other side. "Becky Botsford?," Scoops says, astonished. "Are you--?"
In too much danger for stubbornness, Becky picks him up and flies them away. While Becky is frustrated and matter-of-fact while escaping the swarm, Scoops ecstatically scribbles in his notepad.

Summary
Mr. Big and Dr. Two Brains have managed to turn the entire town into mind controlled zombies - everyone except for Scoops and WordGirl! Now that Scoops knows Becky's big secret, will he write the biggest story of his career? Or will he help his friend outsmart the villains before they take their mind control scheme global and take over the whole world???
Plot
Morning comes, and Becky tells Scoops he must keep her identity a secret, which he is not satisfied with. Scoops is thrilled to write an article on his amazing discovery. She lets him know her life will be harder with villains knowing who he is in her personal life, her family treating her differently, and paparazzi following her. Being a dedicated reporter, Scoops can't be convinced. However, WordGirl has another worry at the moment.
Dr. Two-Brains and Mr. Big are living it up, being brought plenty of cheese and money by their town full of servents. They even plan to take their scheme global. WordGirl and Scoops arrive to stop them. WordGirl attempts to find the mind control's source, but the villains soon tell her each individual button is a mind control device.
WordGirl and Scoops leave to hurry around the city, making an effort to shut off the buttons, only for other people to instantly turn them back on.
Outnumbered, they head to WordGirl's secret hideout to think over the situation. Together, they figure out the solution: the microphones the villains had must control the commands!
They head head back to Mr. Big's building. Scoops and WordGirl battle Dr. Two-Brains and Mr. Big for control of the microphone, working together to deliver their instructions to the people of the city. At their command, every person presses their buttons and gains their wits. Mr. Big orders them to push their buttons again, but he, embarrassed, realizes they are no longer hypnotized to listen to listen to his every demand.
With their plan foiled, Mr. Big and Dr. Two-Brains are soon arrested. Despite the failed scheme, they both agree that their experience together was positive, and they decide to collaborate again when they are released from jail. The Botsfords go home and Scoops says by to Bob and calls him Huggy much to Bob's surprise.
Later, WordGirl meets Scoops outside her secret hideout, feeling troubled, she watches him writing away. Huggy shows up all panicked and asks why she told Scoops and she admits that it just happened. However, he promptly rips up his article on "the scoop of the century", having decided on loyalty. Scoops reflects for a moment on his friend being WordGirl. Then, he tells her he has a million questions to ask her. Secretly pleased with his attention, she agrees, and the episode ends with Scoops interviewing WordGirl as they watch the sunset.
