Carl Reiner (March 20th, 1922 - June 29th, 2020) was an American actor, voice actor, comedian, director, and writer.
As an actor of live-action, he formed a comedy duo with Mel Brooks for a comedy sketch program called 2000 Year Old Man. He also acted for films such as The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming, Good Boy!, and the Ocean's (film series).
He also directed and co-wrote in several projects that he also co-starred in. He collaborated with Sid Caesar in the 1950s’ as a co-writer & co-star for Caesar’s Hour and Your Show of Shows, as well as with Steve Martin by directing or co-writing projects with him in the 1970s’, such as The Jerk. In the 1960s’, he also became best known for creating, producing, writing, and acting in The Dick Van Dyke Show, which gave Dick Van Dyke himself recognition in the television and movie industry.
Most of his works in animation had mostly been where he would be a guest star. But, some of his more notable of voice roles came from that of Dinny the Kangaroo, Sascha the Grouse, and Billie the Bird in Linus the Lionhearted, Max the Owl in Globehunters: An Around the Word in 80 Days Adventure, Sarmoti in Father of the Pride, and Santa Claus for two Christmas-themed installments of the Madagascar: Merry Madagascar & a Christmas special of The Penguins of Madagascar.
For Wordgirl, he guest starred as the voice of the Blue Blazer for The Good Old, Bad Old Days, co-starring with Tom Kenny who guest starred in the same episode as Razzmatazz.
He was one of the very last guest stars of the series, as well as the eldest of the cast. He was also one of the oldest actors to ever live.
On June 29, 2020, Reiner died of natural causes at the age of 98, making him the third member of the show's cast to pass on.
