Bend It Like Becky is episode 8a of Season 3 of WordGirl.

Summary[]

During the height of soccer fever, Becky and friends (T.J., Violet, and Johnson) decide to practice soccer on the field with Mrs. Botsford as the coach. Meanwhile, Dr. Two Brains has a brilliant plan for his henchmen and himself to have a picnic every day while the weather is nice. Problems arise when Mrs. Botsford and Dr. Two Brains realize they have the same field reserved at the exact same time for the same duration of time. They decide to settle things with a soccer match between their two teams: "The Butterfly Unicorn Laser Gorillas" and "The Cheese-Eaters". Which team will win the field?

Plot[]

Everyone in Fair City is excited because it is now the soccer season, people are all watching the game (even the villains). Becky, T.J., Violet, Johnson and Bob have all joined the soccer team which is being coached by Sally Botsford who tells them with a lot of practice they'll be as good as the team on tv. They are excited to begin practice but Coach Botsford says they need to pick a team name. Lots of names are tossed around including the unicorns, the butterflies, the lasers and the gorillas. Eventually Coach Botsford suggests they combine all four names into one. Seconds later, Dr. Two-Brains' blimp appears over the field, as it turns out he and his henchmen had spent the entire winter indoors but are going to spend the next three months having a picnic in the park everyday due to the nice weather. The henchmen notice the soccer team practicing where they were going to have their picnic.

After landing Two-Brains orders Sally and the soccer team to leave, but they refuse to. Sally questions his right to interrupt their practice and tell them to leave. He tells them he reserved the field at this time for the next three months and has the paperwork to prove it. Sally also reserved the field at this time for three months, which Becky questions. After examine both papers Sally realizes the city made a mistake, they both have the field reserved, which means one of them will have to leave. Two-Brains tells them to leave and the henchmen start to bring out their picnic supplies. Becky tells Two-Brains the team needs to practice their soccer so they need the field. Two Brains scoffs at this since he thinks that all you do in soccer is run around and kick a ball and it's easy. Becky and Sally make a deal: To settle who will get the field they will play a game of soccer, the kids vs Two-Brains and his henchmen, whoever wins will get the field for the next three months. Thinking this will be easy, Dr. Two-Brains accepts the deal. Sally says they will meet there at the same time tomorrow but the team will be using the field to practice for the day. Two-Brains agrees and packs up but tells them he will win. After Two-Brains and his henchmen leave, the team is concerned they won't be able to beat the opposing team, but with a little encouragement from Becky they practice hard all day.

The next day the two teams meet on the field for the game. It's the BULG's (Butterfly Unicorn Laser Gorillas) vs the Cheese Eaters. The referee tells the team the rules, both teams will try and score a goal by getting the ball into the net. Whoever gets the most points wins. The game begins, both teams play hard but eventually the game ends in a 0-0 tie. When Sally questions what happens next, the referee states that they will go to a penalty kick. This means that one person from each team will try and kick the ball into the goal, whoever makes it first wins. Two-Brain's henchman does kick the ball hard but it lands in the tree. Sally says that if Becky makes the goal they win, but knowing that she would be cheating if she used her superpowers, Becky suggests that Violet kicks for them, while hesitant Violet agrees after some encouragement. In the end Violet manages to make the goal earning the team the victory. Unfortunately Two-Brains doesn't hold up to the agreement and covers the field in cheeseballs. Becky and Bob transform into the heroes and using her soccer skills defeats Two-Brains and the henchmen. After getting back, the team gets their picture taken by Sally.
